Size: ~184 mm

Characteristics: Soft uniformly gray fur (sometimes with faint dark stripe on back). Long bi-colored tail. White feet. Thin ears. Coarse whiskers. Black bulging eyes.

Locations: Wooded areas, fields and meadows, parks, campgrounds, cabins, barns, and attics/basements/garages of rural or suburban houses near wooded or grassy areas.

House Mouse

Name: 𝘔𝘶𝘴 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘭𝘶𝘴

Size: ~169 mm

Characteristics:  Short and soft fur. Tail length equals body length. Thin whiskers. Narrow hind feet. Prominent ears. Sharp claws. Has distinctive, musky odor.

Locations: Builds nests near trees. Inhabits wall voids, cabinets, and garages inside. Successfully coexists with humans in both indoor and outdoor settings.

Norway Rat

Size: ~440 mm

Characteristics: Gray to brown in color. Blunt nose. Small close-set bald ears. Short, pink, fatter tail at base.

Locations: Any building that provides food and shelter. Apartment buildings, basements in houses, kennels, warehouses, stores, slaughterhouses, barns, livestock buildings, silos, granaries, sewers, and dumpsters. Usually nests near water.

Pack Rat

Name: 𝘕𝘦𝘰𝘵𝘰𝘮𝘢 𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘢

Size: ~310 to 470 mm

Characteristics: Brown or grey with lighter underbelly. Wide eyes. Long whiskers. Large ears that extend outwards. Long tail makes up 50% of its size.

Locations: Build complex houses/dens made of twigs, and cactus joints. Will move into the attics and walls of houses if near humans.

Locations: Commonly lives in tropical areas. Found in attics, buildings, garages, storage spaces, piles of garbage, wood rafters, roofs, trees, and wall voids.
