Characteristics: Female is glossy black, with an hourglass-like shape on its abdomen. Male black widow is brown or gray, with small red specks on its abdomen.

Locations: Secluded areas. Webs can be found in rock piles and block walls, in sprinkler valve boxes and sheds, in garages, and on the underside of patio furniture.

Locations: Invasive species. Secluded areas. Webs can be found in isolated, secure locations like old tires, empty containers, buckets, entryways, mail boxes, storage closets, and garages.
