Orlando’s Best Rodent Control and Rat Trapping Professionals
The best rodent control and trapping company in Orlando is Termite Lawn and Pest, Inc. How do we get rid of Rats? How do we get rid of Mice? Rodent control starts with a thorough inspection. Rodent proofing starts by sealing up all possible entry points with quality material that rats and mice can’t chew through. If rats, mice and squirrels can’t get in, then they can’t cause damage. If you have rats or mice in your attic, you must use a lot of traps and you need to provide them with plenty of food (bait) during the trapping process.
Are you finding Rats or Mice feces (droppings). Do you smell the urine from the Rodents? Have you heard Rats or Mice in the attic? Are they chewing on your electrical wires? Have you see them inside your house? Did you get embarrassed by of having a guest spot a rat in your home. Are they crawling on you as you sleep? Are they in your car or vehicle? Are they at your place of business? Are they destroying merchandise or scaring away your clients? Have you tried to get rid of them yourself, only to have them come back? Have you hired another company and they just did not get the job accomplished? Or maybe you just want Rodent Proofing and prevention so that you never need to worry about a Rodent Infestation.

Rodents Are A Public Health Threat Bigger Than Originally Thought
The biggest and most dangerous risk from rodents is Hantavirus. Hantavirus can be serious, causing flu-like symptoms with coughing and difficulty breathing. The young, elderly and people with a weaken immune system are at the most risk of death. According to the CDC, Hantavirus has a mortality rate of 38%. Rodents can increase or aggravate allergies and asthma. They can contaminate food. Salmonella can be viable on mouse feces for up to 86 days. Rats can carry Ectoparosites, A.K.A. Rat Mites. When doing a clean out for rodents, you need to be aware that a insecticide treatment may be necessary to control the mites.
In addition to disease and mites, rodents cause electrical fires by chewing electrical wires in attics and walls causing electrical shorts. Rodents also cause insulation damage. They can cause a 50% reduction in R-value in 6 months.
The Specialized Termite Lawn and Pest Rodent Control Process
Step One: Initial inspection to identify the specific pest and the way they entered the structure or property. Evaluate the extent of the problem and carefully consider the removal tactics.
- Seal up (Exclude) the exterior so that the rodents cannot leave or enter. Arguably, the most important step in this process.
- Place and pre-bait interior and/or exterior traps for 3-5 days. Pre-baiting is extremely important. It gains the trust of the older, smarter rodents. These rodents are often shy and scared of new introductions into their environment, such as snap traps, glue boards and monitoring stations. Tip: We use a lot of bait. We use 3-4 times more bait than the amount of Rodent we think you have. There must be enough for them to feed on for 5+ days.
Step Three: After 3-5 days of pre-baiting, we will bait and set traps. We use 3-4 times more traps, than the number of Rodents we think you have (this is extremely important). Return to check the traps in 1-2 days.
Step Four: Collect and discard trapped rodents. Reset traps if needed and follow up in 1-3 days. Inspect our “Seal Up” exclusion work. Repeat this step, until all rodents have been eradicated.
Step Five: Retrieve traps – cleanup. Re-Inspect the “Seal Up” exclusion work.
Step Six (Optional): 1) Remove attic insulation 2) disinfect attic 3) replace insulation.
