Size: ~1.5 to 2.8 mm

Characteristics: Winged adult is shiny, dark-brown to black; wingless adult is shiny black. Six segmented antennae.

Locations: Citrus trees in backyards, gardens, citrus orchards, or farms.

Locations: Infests a wide range of plants: ornamental flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees commonly found in home gardens. Also infests potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, and various other fruits on farms. Invades greenhouses, where it can infest young plants and propagate rapidly. Public parks and botanical gardens especially during warmer months.

Locations: Various host plants in the cucurbit family (e.g. watermelon, cucumber, cantaloupe). Also cotton crops. Tends to infest the underside of leaves or the tips of vines, where it feeds on plant sap.
